Bombardier Raises Free Cash Flow Guidance After Strong First Quarter

Bombardier Inc. announced robust results for the first quarter of 2026, driven by sustained order momentum and a significant increase in free cash flow. The company raised its full-year 2026 free cash flow guidance to more than $1 billion.

Revenues for the first quarter reached $1.6 billion, a 5% increase compared to the same period last year. The Services division showed particular strength, with revenues growing 25% year-over-year to $617 million. The company delivered 24 aircraft during the quarter. Strong demand, notably from fleet operators and for the Global 8000 model, contributed to a unit book-to-bill ratio of 3.6x. As of March 31, 2026, the order backlog stood at $20.3 billion, an increase of $2.8 billion since the end of 2025.

The company generated $360 million in free cash flow, a substantial improvement of $664 million compared to the first quarter of 2025. Operating activities provided $393 million in cash flow, reversing a cash outflow from the previous year. Bombardier also announced a further debt reduction of C$150 million using cash from its balance sheet to repay debentures maturing in December 2026.

Adjusted EBITDA for the quarter was $246 million, a slight decrease year-over-year. Reported net income increased by 20% to $53 million, while adjusted net income saw a significant rise of 178% to $189 million. The company maintained a strong liquidity position with approximately $2.0 billion in available liquidity.

Bombardier reaffirmed its other key financial guidance metrics for 2026, citing a favorable market environment and disciplined execution in increasing its financial outlook.
