Bombardier reports revenue growth and improved financial performance

Aerospace manufacturer Bombardier Inc. has announced its 2024 financial results, marking the company's fourth consecutive year of growth across key metrics. Total revenues reached $8.7 billion, an 8% increase year-over-year, exceeding the company's earlier projections. This growth was significantly boosted by a record performance in its services segment, which generated over $2.0 billion in revenue, alongside the delivery of 146 aircraft.

The company's adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) increased by 11% from the previous year to $1.36 billion, achieving a margin of 15.7%. Net income stood at $370 million, with adjusted net income reported at $547 million. Diluted earnings per share (EPS) were $3.40, while adjusted EPS saw a substantial 31% climb to $5.16.

Bombardier's backlog increased to $14.4 billion by the end of the year, with a stable unit book-to-bill ratio of 1.0 indicating consistent demand. Free cash flow generation amounted to $232 million. The company also made progress on deleveraging, reducing debt by approximately $400 million in 2024, which lowered its net debt to adjusted EBITDA ratio from 3.3x to 2.9x.

In response to new U.S. tariff regulations imposed in February 2025, Bombardier has chosen to defer the release of its 2025 guidance and objectives, citing potential significant impact on its operations. The company maintained available liquidity of $2.1 billion as of December 31, 2024.
