Bombardier to Acquire MHICA Assets in Mississauga, Ontario

Bombardier Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire the assets of MHI Canada Aerospace Inc. (MHICA) located in Mississauga, Ontario. The transaction, subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to close later this year and aims to strengthen Bombardier's in-house aerostructures manufacturing capabilities and supply chain autonomy.

With this acquisition, Bombardier will integrate MHICA's aerostructure manufacturing expertise and its team of approximately 750 employees. The company stated this move enhances operational resilience and self-sufficiency in critical production areas.

"This agreement represents a key step in Bombardier's long-term growth strategy, strengthening critical capabilities and enhancing operational resilience," said David Murray, Executive Vice President, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Execution. He added that the acquisition deepens core manufacturing expertise and supports the company's ability to meet growing customer demand.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) will collaborate with Bombardier to ensure an orderly transition, providing transitional support for an interim period post-closing. The terms of the transaction remain confidential.
