Bonduelle Clarifies Nutritional Content and Preparation of Food Products
Bonduelle has published a Frequently Asked Questions section and glossary addressing consumer inquiries about product preparation and nutritional content, including salt, sugar, and preservatives.

Bonduelle, a processor of plant-based foods, has aimed to enhance its communication by releasing a detailed FAQ section and glossary on its corporate website.
The section addresses key consumer concerns regarding nutrition. Bonduelle confirms that its canned vegetables contain no preservatives. The products' shelf life is ensured through a blanching and sterilization process that eliminates microorganisms. The company emphasizes its objective to develop healthy, lower-sodium plant-based products with optimal nutritional profiles.
Regarding salt usage, Bonduelle clarifies that its fresh bagged salads and basic frozen vegetables contain no added salt; any salt content listed comes from the vegetables' natural sodium levels. Prepared products, such as mixed salads and canned dishes, have had maximum salt thresholds implemented since 2008, and the company has progressively reduced salt in its recipes.
Concerning sugar, Bonduelle states that nearly all its products have no added sugar. When sugar is added, it is for culinary reasons and limited to a maximum of 2.5% of the total product weight, aligning with World Health Organization recommendations. The company is also actively reformulating recipes to lower sugar content.
Bonduelle also provides information on its sustainable development initiatives, highlighting local harvesting and the benefits of plant-based foods. The company also supports school canteens with plant-based options and advisory services.
