Bonduelle clarifies product nutrition and manufacturing details

The Bonduelle Group has published a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section on its website, providing detailed answers regarding its products' nutritional content and manufacturing processes. This initiative aims to offer transparency to consumers about the company's practices.

The company addressed concerns about salt and sugar content, stating that its fresh bagged salads and basic frozen vegetables contain no added salt, with the sodium content stemming naturally from the vegetables. For prepared products, maximum salt thresholds were implemented in 2008 and have been progressively reduced. Similarly, added sugar is minimal, capped at 2.5% of total product weight, aligning with WHO recommendations for healthy eating.

Bonduelle reassured consumers that its canned vegetables do not contain preservatives. The preservation method involves blanching the vegetables, followed by sterilization in hermetically sealed cans, which destroys germs. The company emphasized its commitment to developing plant-based solutions with optimal nutritional profiles, using simple, high-quality ingredients.

Furthermore, the FAQ clarifies Bonduelle's support for school canteens, offering a range of services including specially selected, prepared, and affordable products, along with advice from culinary advisors. The company sources its produce from optimal growing regions at peak maturity throughout the year, promoting simple, wholesome, and flavorful plant-based food.
