Bonobos Founder Andy Dunn Recruits Influencer Nadya Okamoto as Pie Co-Founder
Andy Dunn, founder of Bonobos, has appointed Nadya Okamoto as co-founder and chief marketing officer of his social events app, Pie. Okamoto brings approximately 5 million social media followers to the venture.

Andy Dunn, the entrepreneur behind the apparel brand Bonobos, has brought on Nadya Okamoto as a co-founder and chief marketing officer for his social networking app, Pie. Okamoto, who founded the menstrual care brand August, has an estimated 5 million followers across social media platforms.
Pie, launched in 2020, aims to facilitate in-person social connections and event organization. The app pivoted from a one-on-one friendship model to event-focused in 2024 and is now expanding into New York City and Los Angeles. The company secured $11.5 million in Series A funding last year, led by Forerunner Ventures.
Dunn describes Pie as a "social life operating system" designed to consolidate various social activities into a single platform. He believes that by understanding user habits, Pie can deepen connections. The company faces competition from other event-planning platforms like Partiful and Luma.
Okamoto noted that the term "plans" was chosen to imply a broader scope than just formal gatherings. The app is intended to support anything from casual get-togethers with friends to larger community events, fostering connection across different social circles.
