Bonprix launches AI tool to inspire fashion design

Fashion company Bonprix has developed its own "Fashion Creation App" using artificial intelligence to generate design inspiration. The tool aims to accelerate the design process and create photorealistic product visualizations.

3 October 2026

Bonprix has implemented its self-developed "Fashion Creation App," a tool leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) and 3D technologies to streamline the product development process. This app represents the initial step towards a fully digitized product development pipeline, extending from design conception to virtual fitting.

The objective is to enhance the ability to respond more rapidly to trends and customer demands while simultaneously improving operational efficiency and flexibility. Bonprix states that the app stimulates creativity by offering design suggestions based on text prompts or uploaded images. It employs generative AI and multimodal models, integrated with classic image processing, to ensure high quality and design adaptability.

The application allows designers and product developers to quickly and easily translate their ideas into visual drafts rendered in photorealistic quality. Integrated editing tools facilitate customizations based on individual preferences. The first AI-assisted garment, a cardigan, was launched in Bonprix's online shop last autumn and sold out quickly. Additional similar products are planned for release.

Bonprix already utilizes several digital applications in its product development, including an AI-based tool for predicting article success and 3D fitting for testing materials and sizes. The company views the new app as a significant milestone in the transformation of product development, enhancing both the product and shopping experience, and strengthening the company's market competitiveness.
