Bonprix, Otto and Hermes Donate Protective Gear to Hamburg Hospitals
Bonprix, in conjunction with Otto Group sister companies OTTO and Hermes, has donated 175,000 masks, 12,000 pairs of goggles, and 3,300 overalls to Hamburg hospitals and nursing homes.

Bonprix Handelsgesellschaft mbH, alongside Otto Group affiliates OTTO and Hermes, has provided a significant donation of protective equipment to healthcare facilities in Hamburg. The delivery included 175,000 respiratory masks, 12,000 protective goggles, and 3,300 protective overalls. The supplies were distributed to the Universitätsklinikum Eppendorf (UKE) and Marienkrankenhaus hospitals, as well as various nursing and retirement homes across the city. This initiative aimed to address the critical shortage of protective materials for healthcare workers during the pandemic. Otto Group CEO Alexander Birken highlighted the importance of collective action during the crisis. "In a crisis, it is important to stand together, act, and contribute where one can truly make a difference," he stated. As a major company based in Hamburg, bonprix saw the need to direct its support to where protective gear was most urgently required. The costs for procurement and transportation were fully covered by Otto Group and its participating companies. Hermes managed the logistics of delivering the equipment to the hospitals. This donation is part of a broader effort by Otto Group to support healthcare services, including collaborations with other firms to source protective clothing for medical facilities.
