Boox enters market for tiny e-readers with new Tile lineup

Boox is preparing to challenge Xteink's popular compact e-readers, known for their ability to attach to an iPhone with MagSafe. The company's new Tile lineup will debut with the Picco model, a development confirmed by Boox to The Verge.

The upcoming Picco e-reader is expected to be equipped with a 3.97-inch front-lit, black-and-white e-paper display. The device will also offer expandable storage via an SD card slot, enhancing its usability.

Boox has confirmed that the Picco is in development as part of the new Tile lineup and has indicated an "accessible price point." However, specific details regarding the device's technical specifications, exact pricing, or a release date have not yet been disclosed.

The front-lit display is anticipated to place the Picco on par with Xteink's recent offerings, such as the $99 X4 Pro e-reader, which also features a front-lit screen.
