Booz Allen Partners With America's VetDogs to Raise Service Dog
Booz Allen Hamilton is partnering with America's VetDogs to sponsor and raise a service dog in training. Employees will foster and train a Labrador puppy named Astro to support a veteran or first responder.
Booz Allen Hamilton has entered into a partnership with America's VetDogs, a national non-profit organization, to sponsor and raise a service dog. Employees at the technology and consulting firm will be involved in fostering and basic training of a black Labrador Retriever puppy named Astro.
Over the next year, a dedicated Booz Allen employee will serve as Astro's primary caregiver and trainer. This role involves teaching the puppy basic obedience and socialization skills while integrating it into the company's corporate environment. The initiative is part of America's VetDogs' "Puppy with a Purpose®" program.
The partnership highlights Booz Allen's commitment to supporting the military community, a group that includes a significant portion of its workforce. The goal is to provide life-changing assistance dogs to veterans and first responders who have sustained disabilities.
America's VetDogs provides specially trained service and guide dogs at no cost to veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders with disabilities. The organization's history includes training Sully, the service dog for the late President George H. W. Bush.
