Börje Ekholm Nominated as Chair of Sobi Board
Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB has announced that Börje Ekholm is the proposed candidate to succeed David Meek as Board Chair following the 2027 Annual General Meeting.
The Nomination Committee of Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (Sobi) has officially nominated Börje Ekholm for election as a new board member and Chair of the Board. The appointment is scheduled for approval at the company’s 2027 Annual General Meeting (AGM).
This leadership transition follows the announcement by current Chair David Meek that he will not seek re-election at the end of his term. Meek, who has held the chairmanship since December 2024, will remain in the role until the 2027 AGM to oversee the transition period.
Sobi has focused heavily on expansion and shareholder value during Meek's tenure. The incoming proposal of Ekholm marks a transition in oversight for the pharmaceutical firm as it continues to manage its portfolio in the rare disease treatment sector.
