Börje Ekholm proposed as Sobi board chair
Sobi's nomination committee has selected Ericsson CEO Börje Ekholm as the candidate for board chair to be elected at the 2027 annual general meeting.
The nomination committee of Swedish Orphan Biovitrum (Sobi) has nominated Börje Ekholm to serve as a new board member and chair of the board. The election is scheduled to take place at the company's annual general meeting (AGM) in 2027.
Ekholm, who currently leads the telecommunications firm Ericsson, is slated to succeed David Meek. Meek, the incumbent chair, has signaled his intent to step down from the position. The change is part of the company’s structured governance transition.
Sobi focuses on specialty pharmaceuticals and rare disease treatments. The appointment of an executive with Ekholm’s background in large-scale industrial management marks a significant addition to the company's governance as it navigates its next phase of commercial development.
