Bosch and Tsinghua University Extend AI Collaboration

Robert Bosch GmbH is expanding its collaboration with Tsinghua University in Beijing, focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) research.

The technology company is investing 50 million Chinese yuan, approximately 6 million euros, to extend the partnership centered around the Tsinghua-Bosch Joint Research Center for Machine Learning for another five years. The collaboration aims to accelerate AI innovations for industrial applications.

Established in March 2020, the Joint Research Center has published over a hundred papers at top conferences and filed numerous patents. Some of these breakthroughs are already being integrated into Bosch's product development and manufacturing processes.

Bosch globally employs around 1,800 experts in research and advanced engineering, with about 100 specialists in China dedicated to AI, electrification, and autonomous driving. Since 2023, all Bosch products incorporate AI or have been developed or manufactured with its assistance.

The extended partnership seeks to speed up the development and real-world application of AI technologies within the industrial sector.
