Bosch Leverages AI for Healthcare Advancements

Robert Bosch GmbH is advancing healthcare through artificial intelligence (AI), with its research divisions and the Bosch Health Campus (BHC) collaborating on AI-driven solutions. The initiative aims to enhance diagnostic precision and enable personalized medical care while adhering to European data protection standards.

An "Entrepreneurship & AI Hackathon Bosch Research@Bosch Health Campus" was held in Stuttgart on July 17-18, 2025. The event brought together approximately 35 participants to foster innovation and cooperation between the two organizational units in areas like digitalization and AI in healthcare.

The hackathon featured two main tracks. One group concentrated on applying AI methods to improve cardiology diagnostics using anonymized MRI data and enhancing the analysis of patient vital signs for early detection of critical conditions at the Robert Bosch Hospital. The other group focused on developing new business models for potential Bosch and BHC initiatives.

During a final pitch event, teams presented their findings to a jury comprising representatives from both BHC and Bosch Research. Jochen Feichtinger, Head of Strategic Research Portfolio Healthcare Solutions at Bosch Research, highlighted the hackathon's outcomes as a starting point for future research, emphasizing AI's role in saving lives through high-quality data and intelligent algorithms.
