Bosch announced on July 13 that its new 8-inch silicon carbide (SiC) wafer fabrication facility in Roseville, California, has commenced sample production. The company anticipates starting commercial chip manufacturing by the end of this year.

The Roseville facility represents Bosch's inaugural semiconductor production site in the United States. The plant was acquired through the purchase of TSI Semiconductors, with a total investment of $2 billion allocated for its transformation. This project has received $225 million in direct funding from the U.S. CHIPS Act, along with $25 million in state tax credit incentives.

Furthermore, Bosch stated its objective to invest up to $7.5 billion in the U.S. by 2031. This target year coincides with the 125th anniversary of Bosch's presence in the American market.
