Bouygues Telecom announced it has signed a memorandum of understanding with Altice France to acquire a substantial part of the telecommunications operator SFR. The agreement was made alongside Orange and Free-Groupe iliad, who together form a consortium for the transaction.

The acquisition covers most of Altice France-SFR's assets, excluding stakes in XP Fibre, UltraEdge, and Altice Technical Services, as well as Altice's overseas operations. The move is intended to bolster investments in French digital infrastructure and enhance the resilience of fixed and mobile networks.

Bouygues Telecom stated that the transition for existing SFR customers will be managed progressively to ensure service continuity. The company has also committed to guaranteeing employment for the acquired employees until early 2029. This acquisition aims to strengthen Bouygues Telecom's position in the French telecommunications market.
