Bratislava, Slovakia – The Obchvat Nula consortium, a partnership including Cintra, Macquarie Capital, and Austria's PORR AG, has achieved commercial close for the Bratislava D4-R7 ring road project. This development marks a significant step for one of Central Europe's largest public-private partnership (PPP) infrastructure projects.

The commercial close follows the Slovak Ministry of Transport's selection of the consortium as the preferred tenderer in early February 2016. The project entails an estimated total investment of approximately EUR 1 billion and will cover nearly 60 kilometers of roadway. A financial close is anticipated within the coming weeks.

The D4-R7 project will involve constructing a 27-kilometer motorway section (D4) between Jarovce and Rača, along with a roughly 32-kilometer expressway section (R7) connecting Prievoz and Holice. Under a concession model, the consortium is responsible for the design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance of the infrastructure for a 30-year period. Construction is expected to commence in the second or third quarter of 2016, with an estimated construction duration of approximately four years.

The Design & Construction Joint Venture is formed by Ferrovial Agroman and PORR Bau GmbH. Following the completion of construction, the 30-year concession for operations and maintenance will come into effect. Macquarie Capital served as the financial advisor to the consortium.
