Bravida acquires Pounus rör to expand Kiruna operations
Bravida has announced the acquisition of Pounus rör, a heating and plumbing firm based in Kiruna, to strengthen its market position in Northern Sweden.
Bravida is expanding its footprint in the Malmfälten region with the acquisition of Pounus rör, effective September 1, 2017. The move is designed to address increasing demand for technical installations driven by Kiruna’s ongoing urban relocation and the needs of the local mining sector.
Founded in 2012, Pounus rör generates approximately SEK 30 million in annual revenue and maintains a workforce of 18 employees. The company provides installation and maintenance services, as well as industrial pipework, which will be integrated into Bravida’s existing regional operations for electrical and ventilation systems.
Tage Lundin, regional manager for Bravida Malmfälten, noted that the acquisition allows the company to better service its regional client base. Ingemar Pounu, formerly the head of Pounus rör, will join Bravida in a leadership capacity within the company’s Kiruna heating and plumbing division.
