Bravida Sweden has been contracted to perform all installations in electricity, heating and plumbing, HVAC, and sprinklers for Komatsu Forest's new factory in Umeå. Peab is the main contractor for the construction of the 40,000 square meter facility, which is designed with a focus on sustainability and the Internet of Things (IoT).

Komatsu Forest, a major global manufacturer of forest machines, is investing significantly in the new production facility. The factory aims for carbon-neutral production and will meet stringent environmental standards, including the Swedish Miljöbyggnad Guld classification. The project incorporates installations such as geo-energy and photovoltaic systems.

"We have prior experience from successful collaborations with Bravida, which simplified our joint decision with Komatsu to use Bravida as an installer for the construction of future industrial premises," said Lennart Lundgren, representative for Peab. He noted the project's ambitious timeline.

The installation work is scheduled to begin in May 2020, with completion anticipated in November 2021. Approximately 80-100 Bravida employees will be involved in the project. Bravida stated that resource-efficient installations, such as LED lighting and optimized ventilation, significantly reduce the climate impact of construction projects.
