Brazilian Air Force Receives E-99M Aircraft with Rohde & Schwarz Communications
The Brazilian Air Force has received its first modernized E-99M aircraft, equipped with secure communication radios from Rohde & Schwarz's SOVERON family.

The Brazilian Air Force (FAB) has taken delivery of its first modernized E-99M aircraft, an Embraer platform used for early warning and surveillance. The aircraft is equipped with secure communication radios from Rohde & Schwarz's SOVERON family. This delivery is part of a larger modernization project involving Embraer and other international suppliers.
A total of five E-99M aircraft are being upgraded. These platforms are critical for detecting, tracking, and identifying aerial threats, as well as for air traffic control. They complement ground radar data, enhance situational awareness, and transmit information via secure data links using Rohde & Schwarz waveforms.
Rohde & Schwarz has a long-standing partnership with the FAB, providing secure communication solutions for over two decades. The company highlighted its commitment to delivering customized solutions, leveraging technological expertise, local content, and ongoing support.
The modernized E-99M aircraft will improve interoperability with other aircraft and ground stations equipped with Rohde & Schwarz systems. These enhanced communication capabilities are expected to strengthen the FAB's surveillance missions and its ability to combat irregular air traffic.
