Brigham Nurse Lockout Ends Monday, Home Care Staff Continue Strike

The largest nurse strike and lockout in Massachusetts history will end at 6:59 a.m. on Monday, July 13, at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Simultaneously, Mass General Brigham (MGB) Home Care clinicians will continue their strike through Tuesday, marking its end with a rally outside MGB Headquarters.

Nurses at Brigham and Women's Hospital, who have been locked out, will hold a brief solidarity walk-in event before the lockout officially ends. Those scheduled to work will then enter the hospital to resume patient care, while other nurses and supporters will stand in solidarity outside.

The 450-member MGB Home Care bargaining unit, comprising registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech language pathologists, will extend their strike. They plan to conclude their seven-day strike with a rally on Tuesday at 2 p.m. outside MGB Headquarters in Somerville.

The Massachusetts Nurses Association (MNA), representing both groups, stated that Brigham nurses and MGB Home Care clinicians are prepared to continue negotiations until contract resolutions are reached.
