BrightStar Care Franchise Owners Named Franchisees of the Year

Brian and Chris O'Keefe, multi-unit owners of BrightStar Care in Northern California, have been recognized as the 2026 Franchisees of the Year by the International Franchise Association (IFA). The award honors franchisees demonstrating outstanding leadership, business growth, and community impact within their franchise systems.

The O'Keefes were inspired to join BrightStar Care after a personal experience highlighted the challenges in finding quality, reliable home care for loved ones. They acquired their first territory in 2019, aiming to provide dependable, nurse-led home care and build a trust-based business.

Currently, the O'Keefes operate nine territories across Northern California, expanding their reach while adhering to the brand's care standards. They were honored at the IFA26 Advocacy Summit in Washington D.C. for their excellence in entrepreneurship, community outreach, and service.

Beyond their own business, the O'Keefes are active contributors to the broader franchise community. They have been involved in developing AI initiatives for BrightStar Care and offer mentorship to fellow franchisees. Their community involvement also includes volunteering at local schools, coaching youth sports, and organizing Boy Scout activities.
