BRIJ Medical Secures $5 Million for Surgical Product Expansion
Medical technology firm BRIJ Medical has upsized its latest financing round to $5 million, backed primarily by existing investors and board members.

BRIJ Medical, a developer of surgical incision management technologies, has closed a $5 million financing round. The company originally sought $3 million but increased the total due to higher demand from existing investors and its board of directors. The funding is earmarked for expanding the commercial footprint of its existing product line and supporting the upcoming launch of its silver-based antimicrobial dressing, BRIJ-Ag.
The firm’s current portfolio includes the BRIJ-SEAL wound closure device and the Brijjit tension-offloading system. CEO Tim Gleeson stated that the investment would provide the necessary capital to increase product distribution and strengthen the company’s commercial infrastructure. The devices are currently utilized in specialties including orthopedics, plastics, and spine surgery.
Board Chairman John Grotting noted that the company reached a growth milestone, necessitating further investment to support its operational expansion. The company plans to deploy the proceeds throughout the remainder of the year to meet rising demand for its surgical tools.
