Bristol Myers Squibb and Saudi Schizophrenia Association Support Patients in Saudi Arabia
Bristol Myers Squibb and the Saudi Schizophrenia Association 'Ehtiwaa' have launched the 'Small Wins' initiative to support individuals living with schizophrenia in Saudi Arabia. More than 70 personalized toolkits were distributed.

BRISTOL MYERS SQUIBB and the Saudi Schizophrenia Association (Ehtiwaa) have partnered on the 'Small Wins' initiative to support individuals living with schizophrenia in Saudi Arabia. Over 70 personalized toolkits were distributed as part of the program, designed to encourage daily engagement and foster a sense of well-being.
The 'Small Wins' initiative aims to provide an accessible framework for patients to build motivation, daily engagement, and self-worth at their own pace. Patients are guided through a simple process: picking a card, trying a suggested activity, identifying a small accomplishment, and logging it in a 'Small Wins' jar. Each positive step is recognized as a meaningful achievement.
The toolkit includes activity cards featuring suggestions such as 'Listen to a song you enjoy,' 'Spend a few minutes outside,' or 'Tidy one small space.' It also contains a 'Small Wins' jar and supportive notes from Bristol Myers Squibb employee volunteers. The initiative is intended to complement broader psychosocial support approaches.
As part of the 12th edition of Bristol Myers Squibb's annual Global Patient Week, the company's employees in Saudi Arabia participated in a volunteering activity to assemble and personalize over 70 toolkits. Mayada Al Ahmad, General Manager for Bristol Myers Squibb KSA, emphasized that supporting patients extends beyond medication and requires understanding their needs.
Dr. Manal Sawan, Executive Director at the Saudi Schizophrenia Association, described the collaboration as significant. She noted that the 'Small Wins' initiative promotes daily self-appreciation and builds confidence. The partnership between the non-profit and private sectors aims to create tangible and sustainable impact and support the active inclusion of people with schizophrenia in society.
