Broadcaster Farah Nasser appointed ambassador for Plan International Canada
Canadian journalist Farah Nasser has been named a new ambassador for Plan International Canada, where she will advocate for girls' rights and gender equality. She will amplify the voices and stories of girls globally.
Canadian news anchor Farah Nasser has joined forces with Plan International Canada as its newest Celebrated Ambassador. With over two decades in broadcast journalism, Nasser will leverage her platform to amplify the voices of girls and young women globally, advocating for gender equality.
"As a journalist, I have the opportunity to showcase the resilience and strength of individuals who refuse to be defined by their circumstances. To partner with Plan International Canada is to be part of a powerful movement that is actively creating a better world for girls and young women around the world," Nasser stated.
Nasser's appointment coincides with the International Day of the Girl, observed annually on October 11. This global day promotes a world where every girl is celebrated and valued as a powerful changemaker. Girls and young women activists still face significant barriers, including discrimination and threats to their safety, hindering progress for gender equality.
Lindsay Glassco, President and CEO of Plan International Canada, welcomed Nasser. "Farah walks the talk and has a proven track record of using her voice and platform to champion girls’ rights and gender equality," Glassco said. Nasser joins the organization's roster of ambassadors dedicated to advancing a more just and equal world.
