The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has granted secunet Security Networks AG's SINA L2 Box H Ethernet encryptor official VS-type approval for the "GEHEIM" (secret) classification. This approval allows for securely and performantly exchanging information in networks on OSI Layer 2 (Ethernet) at the highest national classification level.

The SINA L2 Box H is designed for use cases requiring high-security and fast transmission of large data volumes. These include broadband networking of locations, securing backbone networks, data mirroring in high-availability architectures, and data protection for data centers. The product's low internal data transit times make it particularly suitable for scenarios with high Quality of Service or real-time requirements.

secunet emphasizes that its SINA L2 Box H is the sole manufacturer meeting the requirements for this high national secret classification level for secure information exchange on Layer 2. The SINA Secure Inter-Network Architecture was developed by secunet on behalf of the BSI and has been successfully deployed for many years by authorities and armed forces both domestically and internationally.

The device's high data rate efficiency also makes it suitable for satellite-based communication. The SINA L2 Box H complements secunet's extensive SINA portfolio of "GEHEIM"-approved devices, including the SINA L3 Box H for secure encrypted data transfer on OSI Layer 3, the SINA Workstation H as a client, and the SINA Terminal H. The product range also includes the SINA Workflow system integration solution.
