btv technologies introduces model to counter component shortages
btv technologies is introducing its TAK model, designed to address component shortages in the automotive sector and enhance supply chain management.

German firm btv technologies GmbH has developed the TAK model to tackle the critical shortage of semiconductors and other electronic components impacting the automotive industry and its suppliers. The model, initially developed in 2019, offers a structured approach to contractually secured procurement of key components, aiming to ensure production continuity.
The system is targeted at automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and EMS providers facing significant supply chain disruptions. The current chip crisis has highlighted the need for more reliable and agile procurement strategies beyond short-term spot markets or conventional framework agreements.
The TAK model aims for 100% guaranteed component availability through contractual agreements. It provides global coverage for a client's production sites, integrated suppliers, and contracted partners, seeking to prevent manufacturing downtime by reducing reliance on individual distributors or manufacturer allocations.
Structured as a modular system, clients pay only for the services utilized, ensuring transparent costs without hidden markups or currency risks. btv technologies asserts that the model's cost is less than that of a single production stoppage.
