Global nonprofit organization Building Markets will ring the Nasdaq Closing Bell in Times Square on Friday, July 24, 2026. The ceremony recognizes the power of entrepreneurs to create jobs and foster economic growth in vulnerable communities worldwide.

Since its founding in 2004, Building Markets has supported over 28,000 small businesses. These entrepreneurs have collectively secured more than $1.5 billion in contracts and financing, leading to the creation of over 78,000 jobs across Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Joining the ceremony will be Executive Director Elizabeth Brown and Carolina Durán, Director for Latin America. The event also marks the launch of Building Markets' "Opportunity Changes Everything" campaign.

This campaign aims to bring stories of inspiring entrepreneurs, such as Vanessa Vélez, who grew her spice business in a conflict-affected region with the help of training and international buyer connections facilitated by Building Markets. The organization seeks to open market and financing opportunities for these entrepreneurs, creating a global ripple effect of positive change.
