Bunzl Canada Pilots New Driver Safety System
Bunzl Canada has launched a pilot project for a new fleet management system in Burlington, Ontario. This system incorporates forward-facing cameras, electronic logging, and AI technology to enhance driver and public safety.

Bunzl Canada has initiated a pilot program for a new fleet management system in Burlington, Ontario, the location of its largest Canadian fleet. The system utilizes forward-facing cameras, electronic logging devices, and artificial intelligence technology aimed at improving safety for drivers and the public.
The technology is designed to proactively enhance driver behavior. When the forward-facing camera detects driving irregularities, it alerts the driver with an audible tone and records the event for fleet managers to review. This feature facilitates immediate self-correction by drivers and provides management with data for coaching.
Electronic logging devices are also integrated into the system, streamlining the process for drivers to record their hours of service and simplifying data storage and retrieval for the company. This initiative is presented as an enhancement to Bunzl Canada's existing safety protocols.
Bunzl Canada states that employee safety is a top priority and that the pilot program has been well-received by drivers, who reportedly appreciate the system's explicit goal of protecting employees, the public, and the fleet.
