Paris – Bureau Veritas, a global testing, inspection, and certification services company, has been appointed as an Independent Accredited Firm by the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) for the SON Conformity Assessment Programme (SONCAP). This appointment authorizes Bureau Veritas to carry out pre-shipment conformity assessment and issue mandatory certificates required for Nigerian customs clearance.

All shipments containing products regulated by SON must now undergo verification by Bureau Veritas prior to arrival in Nigeria. Upon satisfactory verification, the company will issue a SONCAP certificate (SC), which is essential for Nigerian customs authorities. The process also requires obtaining a Product Certificate (PC1, PC2, or PC3), depending on the product's registration status.

The SONCAP program aims to ensure the quality and safety of products imported into Nigeria, protecting consumers and preventing the entry of substandard or counterfeit goods. Bureau Veritas's role is critical in achieving this objective by providing independent assessment and assurance of product compliance.

Further information and certificate requests can be directed to Bureau Veritas's verigates.com website or via email at soncap@bureauveritas.com. The company acts as a global entity assisting businesses in navigating international regulatory requirements.
