Bureau Veritas acquires Q Certificazioni, enters Italian organic food certification market
Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services, announced its acquisition of Italy-based Q Certificazioni S.r.l., an organic certification specialist.

Bureau Veritas, a global provider of testing, inspection, and certification (TIC) services, confirmed on August 1, 2019, the acquisition of Q Certificazioni S.r.l. The move allows Bureau Veritas to enter the organic food certification market in Italy.
Founded in 2009 and headquartered near Siena, Q Certificazioni employs 12 individuals and reported approximately €2 million in revenue in 2018. The company provides accredited organic certification for food products, adhering to national and international standards, to a client base of farmers, food producers, and retailers.
This expansion into Italy, a leading European producer and exporter of organic food, is part of Bureau Veritas' strategic growth initiative within the agri-food sector. Italy represents a significant market for organic product verification.
The acquisition marks Bureau Veritas' fifth transaction in 2019 and its third in the food industry, strengthening its position in the European certification landscape and its capacity to serve the growing demand for organic product assurance.
