Bureau Veritas and Microsoft Partner for AI-Driven Testing Services

Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services, and Microsoft have entered into a worldwide technical and business collaboration to develop laboratory testing services powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

Digital technology has been identified as a key growth initiative for Bureau Veritas. The company has previously partnered with other technology leaders to integrate digital solutions in areas like construction, supply chain management with blockchain, and industrial asset inspection through advanced data analysis. This new alliance with Microsoft will focus on expanding the use of AI within Bureau Veritas' testing activities and establishing a dedicated data lab for its AI experts.

"Digital technology represents a major opportunity for our customers and for the development of our activities," stated Thomas Daubigny, Vice-President and Group Chief Digital Officer at Bureau Veritas. "This new collaboration with Microsoft aims to deploy AI in our laboratories to deliver more efficient testing services to our customers, while simultaneously optimizing the working conditions of our laboratory technicians."

The partnership extends a prior initiative focused on oil condition monitoring within Bureau Veritas' Commodities business. The company plans to implement AI across all its laboratories. These AI-augmented services will cover tests for commodities, consumer products, and components to ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and customer specifications. Bureau Veritas engineers and technicians will leverage the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to enhance production capacity and deploy new testing processes. Microsoft will provide support in utilizing these tools and demonstrating the benefits of AI in laboratory testing to Bureau Veritas' clients.
