Bureau Veritas, a global player in testing, inspection, and certification services, announced the appointment of Maria Lorente Fraguas as its Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer, effective October 1st, 2024. Fraguas will report to Chief Executive Officer Hinda Gharbi and join the Group Executive Committee.

The appointment supports the company's newly launched LEAP I 28 strategy. Fraguas is expected to play a key role in evolving the Group's people model, ensuring the development of new strategic skills, and fostering new ways of working through technological augmentation. She brings extensive global Human Resources leadership experience, with a focus on talent development, transformation, diversity, and inclusion.

Prior to joining Bureau Veritas, Fraguas served as Chief Human Resources Officer and Corporate Social Responsibility lead at Nexans. Her career spans over 20 years of international leadership across various functions, including operations, new product development, transformation, and HR.

Fraguas succeeds Kathryn Dolan, who has departed the company to pursue other career opportunities. Bureau Veritas aims to leverage Fraguas's expertise to drive future sustainable growth by enhancing talent and expertise within the organization.
