Bureau Veritas announced on September 30, 2026, that the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has officially approved its updated Scope 3 emissions calculation methodology and the associated 2030 targets.
The revised methodology aims to improve the company's understanding and reduction of value chain emissions. The more granular approach provides a clearer view of emission sources, helps identify the most effective decarbonization levers, and more accurately reflects the impact of the Group's actions on its carbon trajectory.
As part of this update, Bureau Veritas has restated its historical emissions data to ensure consistency and comparability over time. New Scope 3 targets have also been defined in alignment with the latest climate science.
