Bureau Veritas selected for Ivory Coast import verification program
Bureau Veritas has been chosen by the Government of Ivory Coast to operate a Verification of Conformity (VOC) program for products exported to the country. The program will begin on March 1, 2018.
Paris – November 8, 2017 – Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification services, has been contracted by the Government of Ivory Coast to implement a Verification of Conformity (VOC) program. This program applies to all goods exported to Ivory Coast and is set to commence on March 1, 2018.
The objective of the VOC program is to ensure that goods imported into Ivory Coast comply with the country's applicable standards. A Certificate of Conformity, issued by one of the selected assessment bodies, will be mandatory for these imports. Bureau Veritas will provide these services under its ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation, as part of the Consignment Based Conformity Assessment (CBCA) program.
The Certificate of Conformity will be required starting from the shipment date of March 1, 2018. Specific details regarding the program's implementation, operational procedures, and the full list of affected products are expected to be finalized and communicated in December via the dedicated Verigates portal. This initiative underscores Ivory Coast's commitment to enhancing the quality and safety of imported goods.
