Bureau Veritas to divest oil and coal testing unit to Triton Partners

Testing and inspection services provider Bureau Veritas has announced plans to sell its oil, petrochemical, and coal testing unit to Triton Partners. The transaction, valued at €470 million, marks a significant step in the company's 'LEAP | 28' strategy aimed at rotating its portfolio toward higher-growth, higher-margin assets.

The business segment generated approximately €450 million in revenue in 2025 but has struggled to match the growth rates of the broader group, according to company disclosures. Bureau Veritas noted that the unit has been dilutive to its operating margins. By offloading this segment, the group aims to improve its organic growth profile and return on invested capital.

CEO Hinda Gharbi stated that the divestment is essential to the group's commitment to active portfolio management. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and consultation with employee representative bodies, with completion anticipated by the end of the first quarter of 2027.
