Burma Burma Parent Files DRHP for IPO, Plans 27 New Restaurants

Hunger Pangs, the parent entity behind the Burma Burma restaurant chain, has submitted its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) for an Initial Public Offering (IPO). The filing reveals plans for a fresh issue of up to ₹150 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of up to 2.8 crore shares. A significant portion of the proceeds from the fresh issue, ₹117.3 crore, is allocated for setting up 27 new company-owned and operated Burma Burma restaurants.

The expansion plan involves opening 12 new outlets in FY28 and 15 in FY29, with no openings anticipated in FY27, though ₹10 crore is set aside for preparatory expenditures. The company has identified potential locations for five of these future restaurants in Bengaluru, Surat, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Delhi, and has entered into letters of intent. Final location selection for the remaining outlets is ongoing.

Founded in 2013, Hunger Pangs launched its first Burma Burma restaurant in Mumbai in 2014. The chain specializes in vegetarian Burmese cuisine within the premium casual dining segment. As of July 31, 2026, it operated 22 restaurants across nine Indian cities, including major hubs like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Delhi NCR, complemented by a delivery kitchen in Mumbai.

Beyond its existing brand, Hunger Pangs is also in the research and development phase for a new premium casual dining concept focused on Japanese cuisine and noodle offerings. The company's financial performance showed a revenue increase of 46.6% to ₹155.5 crore in FY26 from ₹106.1 crore in FY25. However, its net loss widened significantly to ₹15.4 crore from ₹0.5 crore in the same period.
