Bybit Executive: Trust Will Define Institutional Digital Asset Adoption

Bybit executive Yoyee Wang highlighted trust as the defining factor for the next phase of institutional digital asset adoption during a panel at LEAP East 2026 in Dubai. Wang, Global Head of TradFi and Real-World Assets at Bybit, argued that the focus is shifting from whether blockchain technology works to whether financial institutions trust the underlying infrastructure.

Speaking on the "Trust Is the New Infrastructure" panel, Wang explained that regulatory clarity, client-first product design, and practical applications are driving institutional interest. She emphasized that for professional investors, capital preservation and regulatory certainty are paramount before embracing new technologies. "When those foundations are in place, innovation becomes far easier to embrace," Wang said.

Wang noted that regulatory evolution is transforming into a strategic advantage, encouraging both existing clients to deepen their engagement and new institutions to explore digital assets. She pointed to tokenized money market funds as an example of how blockchain can enhance existing financial products by providing traditional market yields on on-chain assets. Bybit positions itself as an infrastructure builder, focused on meeting institutional needs with high standards of security and operational resilience.

Successful adoption, Wang concluded, hinges on understanding clients' objectives rather than just introducing technology. Long-term success will favour platforms that can combine regulatory excellence, trusted infrastructure, and collaborative relationships with financial institutions.
