BYD and Sinopec Convert Shanghai Gas Station to Fast-Charging Site
BYD and Sinopec have transformed a Shanghai gas station into a BYD Flash Charging flagship site, ceasing its fuel operations. This marks the first visible rollout of their joint charging infrastructure plan.

BYD and Sinopec have converted a gas station in Shanghai into a BYD Flash Charging flagship site, ending its fuel sales operations. The station, located at 1209 Huqingping Road, now functions as a charging hub, while Sinopec’s Easy Joy convenience store remains operational on-site.
The conversion follows a framework cooperation agreement signed between the two companies in June. This agreement established a partnership focused on developing fast-charging networks, integrated services, and supply-chain collaboration.
This project represents the initial visible implementation of their strategy to merge charging infrastructure with Sinopec's extensive retail network. The initiative aims to provide electric vehicle users with convenient charging options integrated into Sinopec's existing service station locations.
