BYD Battery and Ulan Bator Sign Memorandum on Electric Vehicle Expansion
BYD Battery and Mongolia's capital city, Ulan Bator, have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand the application of electric vehicles and develop green city infrastructure.
BYD Battery, a subsidiary of Chinese automaker BYD Company, has signed a strategic cooperation memorandum of understanding with the city of Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia. The agreement focuses on expanding the adoption of electric vehicles and developing green energy infrastructure within the city.
According to the memorandum, the cooperation will cover four core areas. Firstly, the plan is to scale up the promotion and application of electric vehicles in Ulan Bator's transportation system to reduce carbon emissions. Secondly, the agreement will facilitate the establishment of a network of fast-charging stations to support new energy vehicles.
Thirdly, the agreement includes the implementation of battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Ulan Bator. This initiative aims to optimize the city's energy structure and enhance power supply stability. Fourthly, a "Sky Shuttle" smart public transportation project will be introduced, utilizing BYD's battery technology to upgrade the urban public transit system.
The collaboration aims to support Ulan Bator's objectives in increasing the use of renewable energy and building a low-carbon city. This partnership highlights BYD Battery's ongoing efforts to broaden its global footprint in the electric mobility and energy solutions sectors.
