BYD Commences Deliveries of Yangwang U8 Fast-Charge AWD Model
BYD has started delivering the all-wheel-drive, fast-charging version of its Yangwang U8 electric vehicle. The company is now prioritizing production increases to manage delivery timelines.

BYD has officially begun deliveries of the all-wheel-drive, fast-charging variant of its Yangwang U8 electric vehicle this week. The company is intensifying its production efforts to ensure timely delivery to customers.
"Securing deliveries is our top priority, and our entire chain is working at full speed to increase production capacity," stated Xiong Tianbo, General Manager of BYD's Yangwang division. This move aims to address potential delays that had impacted some customers.
The Yangwang U8, which launched on April 29, offers several configurations. Rear-wheel-drive versions with ranges of 675 km or 755 km start at 199,800 yuan (approximately $27,500 USD). The all-wheel-drive model, featuring advanced driver-assistance systems and electric AWD, is priced at 239,800 yuan (approximately $33,000 USD).
To mitigate longer wait times, BYD previously offered a "Fast-Charge Model Delivery Wait Gift" for customers experiencing delays exceeding 30 days. This incentive provided one day of free fast charging for each day the delivery was postponed beyond the 30-day mark, aiming to maintain customer satisfaction during production ramp-up.
