BYD has issued a new over-the-air (OTA) software update, version 1.5.1, for its 2025 汉 EV and DM-i models featuring LiDAR-based intelligent driving systems. The update introduces several new functions and optimizations aimed at improving user experience and vehicle security.

Key additions include enhanced smartphone connectivity. The update adds Huawei HiCar mirroring for Huawei phones running HarmonyOS 6.0 and above, allowing screen mirroring in a window on the car's display. It also extends ICCOA Carlink support to Samsung phones with One UI 8.0 and above, and introduces network sharing capabilities for select OPPO, vivo, and Xiaomi models, enabling the car system to use the phone's mobile data directly.

Security features have also been bolstered. A new 'sentinel mode' functionality allows high-risk video clips to be uploaded and viewed via the BYD app for up to seven days. Additionally, the system now supports Wi-Fi fast transfer for dashcam and sentinel mode recordings to a mobile device, and offers a convenient option to export sentinel mode videos locally or to a USB drive.

The update also includes functional optimizations such as changes to the panoramic camera trigger logic, interface display adjustments, and improvements to the air conditioning memory strategy. Mirror functionality and standby power consumption for EV models have also been refined.

This OTA update is being rolled out to specific LiDAR-equipped variants of the 2025 汉 DM-i (125KM) and 汉 EV (701KM) models. The BYD 汉 series is known for its blend of electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains and integrated smart features.
