BYD Fangchengbao to Launch New Tai 9 SUV in Q4

BYD Fangchengbao, the specialized vehicle brand under BYD, has released details regarding its new Tai 9 flagship SUV. The model is slated for release in the fourth quarter of 2026 and will be the third vehicle in the Fangchengbao 'Tai' series.

The Tai 9 is positioned as a 'technology-centric luxury flagship SUV' and features a 2+2+2 seating configuration for six occupants. It measures 5270mm in length, 1999mm in width, and 1880mm in height, with a substantial 3130mm wheelbase, indicating significant interior space. Standard features include BYD's 'Flash Charge' technology, a second-generation Blade battery, the new DMS hybrid platform, and the 'Cloud-Sea A' body control system.

The SUV will offer a choice of exterior paint finishes, including solid and two-tone options, utilizing a nano-ceramic clear coat comparable to luxury vehicles. Interior color schemes will include dual-tone combinations. The cabin is designed as a "5D cockpit," featuring a 30-inch panoramic display and a 21.4-inch rear ceiling-mounted screen. Seat comfort is emphasized with ventilation, heating, and massage functions available for all rows.

Power comes from a plug-in hybrid system combining a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with front and rear electric motors, delivering a total of 400 kW. The vehicle is equipped with a 66.48 kWh battery pack, providing an estimated electric-only range of 310 km under WLTP conditions. The combined range with a full tank and battery charge is projected to exceed 1600 km.

Prior to its official market debut, the Tai 9 will be available for static viewing at auto shows in nine major Chinese cities during the upcoming National Day holiday period. Pre-inquiry channels for the vehicle have already opened.
