BYD announced its sales results for October, reporting approximately 490,200 new energy vehicle (NEV) deliveries, a 10.97% increase compared to the same month last year. Despite the monthly growth, the company’s total sales for the first ten months of the year reached 3.62 million units, representing a 2.16% decline from the previous year.

The performance across vehicle segments remained mixed. Sales of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) saw a substantial rise of 37.38% to approximately 305,700 units. Conversely, plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) sales fell by 17.22% to 177,400 units. Export volumes for October were recorded at 170,200 units.

The data reflects an ongoing shift in consumer preferences within the Chinese automotive market. While BYD continues to capture market share in the pure electric sector, the decline in hybrid sales remains a point of observation for analysts tracking the company’s ability to sustain its dominant position through the end of the fiscal year.
