Chinese automaker BYD intends to launch its new Yangwang luxury vehicle brand internationally, according to minutes from a September 29 shareholder meeting. The company did not specify a date or location for the planned overseas event.
The move is part of BYD's broader strategy to establish its premium brands in markets outside of China. Yangwang represents the company's push into the high-end automotive segment.
In addition to the Yangwang launch plans, BYD also stated that its plant in Brazil is expected to produce approximately 250,000 vehicles this year. The company also indicated that its new facility in Hungary is set to commence production soon.
BYD has been expanding its global manufacturing footprint and product offerings as it seeks to grow its presence in international automotive markets.
