BYD releases third-generation Qin Plus DM-i hybrid sedan
BYD has introduced the third iteration of its Qin Plus DM-i plug-in hybrid, featuring updated powertrain technology and an expanded driving range.

BYD officially launched the third-generation Qin Plus DM-i plug-in hybrid sedan on October 27. The vehicle is available in three variants, with limited-time pricing starting at RMB 76,900 and standard list prices reaching up to RMB 100,900.
The new model integrates BYD’s fifth-generation DM hybrid system. The manufacturer reports a fuel consumption rate of 2.58 liters per 100 kilometers under NEDC standards when the battery is depleted. The vehicle offers an electric-only range of up to 220 km and a combined range of 2,290 km.
Measuring 4,840 mm in length with a 2,800 mm wheelbase, the sedan also features the optional God’s Eye B driver-assistance suite. This system provides automated parking capabilities and navigation assistance for city and highway driving environments.
This release reflects BYD's continued strategy to lower the entry barrier for plug-in hybrid vehicles as it seeks to maintain its market share against competitors in the domestic Chinese automotive sector.
