BYD Reveals Design for New Han Sedan Ahead of Chengdu Auto Show
BYD has released design sketches of its upcoming flagship sedan, the Han, which is slated for an official debut at the Chengdu Motor Show in August. The vehicle will be available in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants.
Chinese automaker BYD has unveiled design sketches for its forthcoming flagship sedan, the Han. The vehicle is expected to make its public debut at the Chengdu Motor Show in August. Positioned as BYD's first D-segment flagship sedan, the Han aims to blend sophisticated design with luxury.
The new Han sedan measures 5256 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1510 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3130 mm. It will be offered in two powertrain options: an all-electric (BEV) and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV). The all-electric version will feature a dual-motor setup delivering up to 370 kW of power, while a single-motor variant will also offer 370 kW. The plug-in hybrid variant will be equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine and an electric motor producing a maximum of 200 kW.
The all-electric Han will house a 102.326 kWh battery pack, offering a CLTC range between 820 and 1008 km, depending on the specific configuration. The plug-in hybrid model will come with a 54.489 kWh battery, providing an electric-only range of 370 km.
The introduction of the Han at the Chengdu Motor Show signifies BYD's strategic move to expand its premium offerings and compete in the growing luxury sedan market. The model highlights the company's commitment to electrification and integrating advanced technology into its vehicle line-up.
