BYD Sea Lion 08 SUV Debuts at Chengdu Motor Show
BYD's new Sea Lion 08, positioned as a mid-to-large size SUV, has been unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show. The vehicle will be available in all-electric and plug-in hybrid variants, offering five or six-seat configurations.

BYD officially debuted its new Sea Lion 08 SUV at the Chengdu Motor Show. The vehicle is positioned in the mid-to-large size SUV segment and will be offered in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Customers will have the option of a five or six-seat interior layout.
The Sea Lion 08 features BYD's "Ocean Aesthetics 2.0" design language. Its dimensions measure 5115 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3030 mm. The model displayed was a six-seater, characterized by soft body lines and semi-recessed door handles.
Powertrain options include all-electric versions with single or dual motors, delivering power outputs ranging from 320 kW up to 370 kW for the rear motor in dual-motor configurations. The plug-in hybrid variant combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine (115 kW) with front and rear electric motors, each producing a peak power of 200 kW.
BYD has equipped the Sea Lion 08 with its second-generation Blade Battery technology and Flash Charge capabilities. The introduction of this SUV highlights BYD's strategy to expand its SUV offerings with diverse powertrain solutions.
