BYD to Launch New Dynasty Flagship Sedan 'Dahan' at Chengdu Auto Show

BYD Auto announced on July 23 that its Dynasty 9 Series flagship sedan, the Dahan, will make its official debut at the upcoming Chengdu Motor Show in August. The introduction marks BYD's expansion into the premium sedan segment.

The 29th Chengdu International Auto Exhibition, also known as Chengdu Motor Show 2026, is scheduled to take place from August 21 to 30 in Chengdu, Sichuan. This event is a significant platform for automotive manufacturers to unveil new models in the Chinese market.

The Dahan is positioned as the first D-segment flagship sedan for BYD's Dynasty model line. It measures 5256 mm in length, 1999 mm in width, and 1510 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3130 mm. The vehicle will be offered in both all-electric and plug-in hybrid configurations.

The all-electric version will feature either a single motor with 370 kW of power or dual motors with 200 kW/370 kW. The plug-in hybrid variant will be powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor delivering up to 200 kW. Battery specifications indicate a 102.326 kWh unit for the all-electric models and a 54.489 kWh unit for the plug-in hybrid.
