BYD's premium brand Yangwang announced on August 24th that an event will be held on August 25th to showcase the U7 model. The event will feature a production version of the U7 undergoing an "unprecedented extreme challenge." The results of a long-distance endurance test, conducted in Nanning's hot and humid climate at 240 km/h without changing the vehicle, will also be revealed.
Hu Xiaoging, general manager of Yangwang's sales division, also disclosed that BYD will officially launch the "Yangwang U7 Modification Program." Details and design concepts for this collaborative initiative will be presented at the event. The Yangwang U7 previously participated in the Goodwood Festival of Speed, appearing alongside legendary vehicles from around the globe.
The U7's journey to the UK was not conventional. The vehicle was driven from Shenzhen to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, covering approximately 15,000 kilometers across 10 countries with multiple drivers. Information regarding this overland journey is expected to be shared during the event.
The 2026 Yangwang U7 is equipped with the second-generation "Blade" battery, offering an electric range exceeding 1,000 kilometers (CLTC). The vehicle boasts over 1,300 horsepower and will be available with two suspension options: Yunyan-Z and Yunyan-A.
